Batter

Batter is an uncooked liquid mixture that is the base for pancakes, waffles and crêpes and for baked goods such as muffins, cakes and quick breads. Usually made from eggs, milk or water, flour, sugar and a leavener, batter consistency can vary from that of a light cream to a thick cereal, but it is almost always thin enough to pour.
