Cupcake Cone Rockets

Ingredients
1 package (18-1/4 ounces) cake mix, any flavor, plus ingredients to prepare mix
24 flat-bottom ice cream cones
24 striped white and milk chocolate candy kisses, unwrapped
Round gummy candies and sugar candies
18 chocolate wafer cookies

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Stand cones upright in muffin cups.
2. Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Place about 2 tablespoons batter in each cone.
3. Bake about 18 minutes or until toothpick inserted into centers comes out clean. Place cones upside-down on wire rack.
4. Place 1 chocolate kiss candy or gummy candies on flat bottom (now top) of each cone, if desired (the warmth from the cones will melt the candies slightly and make them stick). Decorate sides of cones by holding sugar candies against warm sides to resemble buttons. Let cones cool completely.
5. Cut each chocolate wafer in half and then into quarters using sharp serrated knife and sawing motion. Cut three thin slits through thick rim of cone using tip of small sharp knife, spacing slits evenly around cone. Slide chocolate wafer halves into slits to secure.

Note   If cones cool too quickly to melt chocolate candies in place, place an additional 1/4 cup chocolate chips in a small resealable storage bag. Place in microwave oven; do not seal. Heat at MEDIUM (50%) 2 to 2-1/2 minutes or until melted. Seal bag and squeeze melted chocolate to one corner. Cut a corner off and squeeze out a drop onto a chocolate chip or candy and place on the side of cone. Repeat with another chip and place directly under the first chip to resemble buttons.
